Minconsult is fully committed
towards fulfilling its corporate
social responsibility to the

regularly in various community
projects. Visits to Welfare Homes
and Old Folks Homes are regularly
conducted under the auspice of the
Minconsult Sports and Recreational
Club (MSRC) with full support of
senior
management. In addition, Company
employees are encouraged to
participate in the half yearly blood
donation drive. This is to help
replenish the supply at blood banks
of hospitals within the Klang
Valley.
The tsunami that struck Aceh Province in Indonesia on 26 December 2004 left several thousand children homeless. One of the projects that were undertaken by Minconsult was the coordinating of disaster relief efforts as well as providing technical assistance for the setting up of an orphanage at Kubapaten (District), Pidie, Aceh Province. The Pidie Orphanage became fully operational in September 2007 and now provides shelter to some 200 orphans. It is being run by MINA Raya, a joint Malaysian-Indonesian charity trust fund. Minconsult is proud to be involved in such humanitarian work in Aceh.
Many employers are reluctant to hire physically-challenged persons, due to doubts about their skills and capabilities. Minconsult provided computer and skills trainings to a group of ten (10) physically-challenged young people for a period of twelve weeks in May-July 2007. The training covered basic use of AutoCAD and MS Office software and mathematics and language skills. Participants were given a feel of a real working environment and the opportunity to be self-reliant in society. On completion of the training, Minconsult subsequently employed two of the trainees. A few other participants also secured employment with other engineering companies. Minconsult intends to organize further computer and skills training courses for the handicapped as part of its regular CSR programme.
In the present
times, the existence of
under-privileged children cannot be
ruled out. Minconsult and its
employees are committed to support
and help such underprivileged
children by providing them an
opportunity to be well equipped in
English and Mathematics. This
will help them to climb the
fundamental steps of social
hierarchy. It is also
necessary to identify potential
children who would be able to teach
other children what they have learnt
in order to propagate the system of
learning and teaching among the
children.

The
team planned an intensive yet interesting and
fun-learning syllabus that provided an approach,
which was not conventional, but invoked interest
among the participants on the subject. Classes
conducted both at the Segambut School premises and
at Minconsult Office for duration of 12 weeks.
