Sri Dato’ Ir. (Dr.) Wan Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Wan
Yaacob obtained his
Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Technical College,
Kuala Lumpur in 1963, Diploma in Civil & Structural from
Brighton College of Technology, United Kingdom in 1965
and attended the Advanced Management Programme of
Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in
1993. He was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Engineering
by The University of Birmingham, United Kingdom in
1993. He was with the Ministry of Works for 32 years,
where he served the last six (6) years as the Director
General of Public Works Department (PWD) before his
retirement in 1996.
His
Chairmanships also include IJM Corporation Berhad,
Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Berhad (LITRAK), Lysaght
Galvanised Steel Berhad, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd,
Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd, Mechanalysis Sdn Bhd, PTRG
Group Sdn Bhd, Disitu Holdings Sdn Bhd and Northport
(Malaysia) Berhad.
His
Directorship in other public and private companies
include Saujana Consolidated Berhad, Malaysia Mining
Corporation Berhad, NCB Holdings Berhad, Bank of America
Berhad, Malaysia Industrial Development Finance Berhad,
Syarikat Perumahan Pegawai-Pegawai Kerajaan Sdn Bhd and PTRG (M) Sdn Bhd.
He is
a Council member of The Road Engineering Association of
Asia & Australasia (REAAA), former President of the
Institution of Highways and Transportation (Malaysia
Branch) and The Road Engineering Association of Malaysia
(REAM). At present he is the Vice-President of the
Kuala Lumpur Lawn Tennis Association and Malay Cricket
Association of Malaysia.
His
involvements in Government Bodies include being a member
of Board of Trustees
for Telekom Malaysia Foundation, Sultan Iskandar
Institute and Malaysia Productivity Corporation, Council
Member of Malaysia Technology University, Chancellor of TATI University College and Director of Proton
